As spring approaches, it’s always so refreshing to start pulling out your spring wardrobe. It’s still kind of an awkward time of year for dressing, when it can still be cold, but you’re over sweaters and boots. Lately, I’ve been loving dressed up casual looks, and I thought I would share some outfit inspiration.
The best part is that most of these looks can be pulled together with things you probably already have in your closet!
The start of a new decade is the perfect time to overhaul your personal style. Over the last few years, I have been really trying to adjust my shopping habits from fast fashion items that I won’t wear in a year, to more classic pieces that look great and will last. This means less impulse buys and not always participating in the latest and greatest trends (but does anyone really miss cold shoulder tops from the one summer they were cool?).
One of the best classic style icons over the last few years is Duchess Meghan. Although she probably has a much bigger shopping budget than your average non-royal, her style is very attainable! She has been known to even wear piece from mass retailers like J Crew! I’ve pulled together some of her most classic looks and were you can find the look for less.
I always find dressing in the winter to be the most difficult. When it’s warm outside, you can just throw on a dress or top and skirt and head out the door. With the frigid temps, you have to be both fashionable and practical, which can be so much more challenging.
The key to changing up your winter looks is to utilize what you already have, but pair it with the right pieces to feel appropriate for the season. It’s also important to keep footwear in mind. Ensure your pants or skirt lengths work with the boots you intend to pair them with– this usually means that they are short enough to not interfere with the top of the boot.
In the world of constant social media, it’s hard not to be continually influenced by the images you see. But what works for other people might not always work for you. In fact, what other people like might not even be what you like or feel good in. Trends are moving so fast, it’s hard to even keep up with what’s cool these days.
When we are bombarded with the images curated by others, how do you find and keep your own unique style?
Fall is the time that everyone starts thinking about refreshing their wardrobe. When the weather starts to cool, it’s time to put away the summer dresses and pull out the scarves and sweaters. As you’re thinking about new pieces for fall, there are a few items that you won’t regret splurging a little more on. These items will last for year after year, and probably end up saving you money in the long run!
Here are my tried and true staples that I would totally splurge on again:
Buying new clothing for fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I am not a fan of really hot weather, and I get so happy every time the fall chill is in the air! I’ve already begun working on adding pieces for my fall wardrobe. If you’re looking to update your style this fall, there are a few key pieces that are a great place to start.
