It’s summer yall! Time to grab a cold drink and get outside (you can read my blog from your patio, just saying!). I’ve pulled together some of my favorite summer styles and ideas and have a free summer loving printable for you from the lovely Renee Sherwood Design. Check it out at the end of this post!
It’s finally time to open the windows and enjoy the sunshine in Minneapolis. After what felt like the longest winter EVER, we went from blizzards to 85 degrees in less than a month!
This is a great time to liven up your decor. I love adding lots of vases for the fresh flowers from my yard. I found an awesome fake leaf in the dollar section at Target to use as a placeholder until I can replace with real stems. This time of year, the more color the better.
After being bullied the last few years by some crabby neighbors, I decided to finally take my yard back and build a privacy fence. I picked 6 foot tall panels that would look nice and do the trick to create more privacy in my yard.
We started the project by finding the property lines. In my city, there are metal pins in each corner of the lot. We easily found one, but it look a lot of measuring to figure out where the other ones were and they ended up being buried almost 18″ underground. You can find your lot dimensions in your tax records (or online) to help guide you as to where the lot lines should be.
After finding the corners of the lot, we ran a string from corner to corner to mark a straight line for the fence to follow. I decided where I wanted to fence to begin, and we dug a hole for the first post.
This weekend I finally pulled the trigger and went full-on fall decorating. Between chilly running weather, football, and my caramel apple spice drinks from Starbucks, it’s my favorite season. I’m loving copper tones this year, mixed with cozy mohairs and preppy plaids. I picked up a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers mixed with and purple flowers that make the prettiest color pallete!
I’m also so happy to finally have the carpet off my front steps (future blog post, I promise!).
What are you most excited about for fall??
I recently toured the new Minnesota Vikings stadium and I’m so excited about what a beautiful addition it is to the Minneapolis skyline. I work in downtown and don’t appreciate how beautiful it is often enough. Here are some of my favorite shots of the beautiful city from the past few months!
