My favorite season is just around the corner. I am so ready to say hello to chilly weather, football games, and pumpkin flavored everything! It’s so fun to switch out decor this time of year to make your home feel more cozy. I’m not super into the over-the-top rustic and harvest look since it doesn’t really fit my space, but I’ve pulled together some of my favorite fall inspo that keeps it clean and modern.
To help you decorate, I’ve also created 3 adorable free fall printables for you! You can download your favorite at the end of this post!
My favorite room in my house is my living room. It gets the prettiest morning sunlight from the east that spills across the room. It’s also one of the rooms in my house with the biggest transformation after we installed the vintage hardwood floors.
Making over a bedroom can seem like an intimidating task. Bedding is expensive and it’s hard to change one piece without it feeling out of place. I love to keep a minimal bedroom style that is grounded in white. This way it’s easy to switch out new decor or a new toss pillow without having to overhaul the whole room. Here are some of my favorite simple bedroom styles to inspire you!
It’s finally time to open the windows and enjoy the sunshine in Minneapolis. After what felt like the longest winter EVER, we went from blizzards to 85 degrees in less than a month!
This is a great time to liven up your decor. I love adding lots of vases for the fresh flowers from my yard. I found an awesome fake leaf in the dollar section at Target to use as a placeholder until I can replace with real stems. This time of year, the more color the better.
We’ve finally made it to spring! I love this time of year when the flowers in my yard start popping up as if winter never even happened. I try to bring as much fresh flowers and greenery into my home as possible.
My favorite flowers are the peonies and lilacs from my yard because they smell amazing. Instead of giant arrangements that are difficult to maintain, I’m loving collections of jars and vases to create pretty displays. For my table, I mixed new vases from Target’s Hearth & Hand collection with an vintage bottle in a similar tone and added a pop with tulip stems.
When I first purchased my house, it was a huge space for someone just out of college who didn’t have nice (or any) furnishings. I made due with what I could pull together from hand-me downs, to things that I found on the side of the road and refinished. I’m so grateful for this time in my life because it taught me the value of working really hard for something and being creative to make due.
As I’ve been able to add more thoughtful pieces to my house, I’ve also had to learn the lesson of taking things away. As a decorator, I like to add more and more pretty things to a space, but sometimes doing less can be significantly more.
