After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, its nice to take some time to refresh your life. For me, this also means taking some time to reduce clutter and clean my home. After putting holiday decorations away, its the perfect time to tackle a major cleaning list.
My advice is to go room by room, maybe doing only one room per day in order to break it up. This way you can really focus on a deep clean and reorganization. Taking time now will only set you up for a less chaotic and stressful year ahead!
To help you with your spring cleaning endeavor, I’ve made a handy printable checklist! Nothing feels better than checking off a list as you accomplish your tasks! Click the download button to get the high res file!

Keeping your home clean seems like a constant battle. Sometimes I don’t even know how my house gets so messy when I’m not even around! It also seems like the more free time that you have, the harder it is to spend time cleaning.
As I’ve shared before, I believe the best way to be productive is to make a list and hold yourself accountable. I created this 7 day challenge to help guide you through a deep clean of your home. This should take a max of 1 hour a day, and leave your home in a cleaner state long term!
The key is to commit to the project and keep up with the tasks each day– no cheating! I plan to follow the challenge this week!

Ever since I bought my house, I dreamed of the day that I could redo my kitchen. My original kitchen was fine, but not the kitchen of my dreams! The biggest purchase I made in my remodel was new quartz countertops. They are one of the biggest purchases I have ever made (other than my actual house and car). I was so happy when they were installed and for the first few weeks I didn’t even want to use them.
Quartz is more stain resistant than granite or marble countertops because it is not a porous stone, but you still want to make sure that you are taking proper care of them to prevent damage. Quartz is actually made of ground up stone held together with binders. This gives you the look and feel of stone without it being an actual slab of stone. There are a few things to know about quartz countertops in order to keep them looking their best.

I recently shared my mini makeover in my blogger home office. I use this room to store a lot of my closet, especially my shoe collection. I used to dream of being able to afford designer shoes long before I ever went to fashion design school, and to me, they represent how hard I have worked in my career!
When I first moved into my house, I found a bookcase on the side of the road that I loaded into my car and used to store my shoes and purses. As I’ve finally grown up a little bit and can actually afford furniture, I wanted to get the monstrosity out of the room and replace it with something a little nicer.

When life becomes busy and it feels like you are only home to sleep some days, it’s hard to stay on top of organization and feel like you’re getting ahead. I’ve found that the more I simplify and the more time I invest in organizing my life, the more free time I have to enjoy and relax.
Every weekend, I set aside an hour or so to fully prepare for the week– I pack my breakfasts, snacks, and lunches, I plan work outfits, workout outfits, and pack bags for after work activities. It seems excessive, but it really helps during the week when I can just get up and go in the morning and I’m also not scrambling to prepare each night.
I also try to take a little time each week to simplify– whether it is cleaning out the fridge, organizing a junk drawer, or cleaning out the linen closet. 20 minutes spent on any one of these tasks makes for an easier day to day routine. Need sunscreen? It’s in the sunscreen bin! Need a towel? They’re neatly stacked and the pile won’t collapse on you!
