Shop My Bathroom Remodel Accessories

As a part of my bathroom remodel, I wanted new accessories to make the space feel refreshed. The color palette for my old bathroom was purples and whites, and I was ready for something new. The new look for my bathroom is mostly white and natural wood, so I wanted to play up the bright palette with a pop of accent color.

Everything I got was pretty affordable and sits together so well! Keep reading to shop my style!

Bathroom Remodel: Building a Vanity

Over the last few weeks, I have been making progress on my bathroom remodel. The biggest part of the remodel is building the custom vanity, and then designing the bathroom around that. I always like to start a project and then make selections on colors/accessories once I can begin to see things together in person.

Bathroom Remodel Update

We have officially kicked off the bathroom remodel! When I first bought my house, I did a little freshening up of my bathroom, but the time has come for a bigger overhaul. The parts of the bathroom that really need to be redone are the vanity, mirror, and floor.

The vanity and mirror were there when I bought my house and have seen better days. The mirror is made out of laminate particle board, which just doesn’t wear well in a bathroom. I suspect the vanity is original to the house and the wood is pretty gross and the top is a yellowed stone. I put in a new floor the first time I did my bathroom, but I just went with a basic tan tile. It’s not the worst look, but I would like something a little nicer and updated.

Bathroom Remodel Inspo

One of the next projects on my home remodel bucket list is my bathroom. I already did a pretty extensive remodel before I moved into my house by refinishing the tile from yellow to white. (You can read about that project here!)

I also put a new floor down and painted the walls. But, I’ve never really loved my bathroom counter or vanity. The stone top is stained in a few places and has yellowed. The vanity is old and just not great. My goal for the project is to replace the vanity and the top to make the bathroom feel new and updated. Depending on how that project goes, I may choose to redo the floors as well, because they are a little plain jane.

Refinishing a Bathroom Vanity DIY

One of my latest house projects was refinishing the vanity in my bathroom. When I first moved into my house, I gave it a light sanding and another coat of varnish to freshen it up, but I’ve never completely loved it. There were a lot of layers of stain and varnish on the wood, and it was starting to peel off around the handles.

Refinishing a Bathroom with Rustoleum Tub and Tile Paint

One of the first projects I did after purchasing my home was to refinish the bathroom tile. I don’t think I’ve ever written about this, but it was a pretty involved project that might be beyond your typical DIY.

My bathroom had lovely 1950’s green and yellow tile, that I just couldn’t live with. The tile itself was in great condition so it would’ve been a shame to just rip it all out because of the color. We found a Rustoleum tub and tile refinisher that was only $25 and decided to give it a try.
