Fall is the time that everyone starts thinking about refreshing their wardrobe. When the weather starts to cool, it’s time to put away the summer dresses and pull out the scarves and sweaters. As you’re thinking about new pieces for fall, there are a few items that you won’t regret splurging a little more on. These items will last for year after year, and probably end up saving you money in the long run!
Here are my tried and true staples that I would totally splurge on again:
Sorel Boots: I’ve had my Sorel wedges for 2 fall/winters now and they’re still holding up! They are super comfortable to walk in, have a good tread on the bottom for treacherous sidewalks, and are just really cute. Of anything I wear, I get the most comments from people that they NEED to buy a pair, and I always recommend them!Â

A Good Sweater: I have found that really nice sweaters are going to last season after season, instead of having to replace them each year. You all know that I’m a big deal hunter, so I always try to stock up on these types of pieces during the summer when they are on major markdown. If you are going to splurge, I love a super classic look like this cashmere turtleneck from J Crew. To read more about scoring deals on clothing, check out my post here!

A Blanket Sweater Coat: I love a sweater coat for fall because it works for both outdoors and indoors. I picked up this one last year from Madewell and found myself reaching for it again and again! It worked great as a top layer for fall, but also to wear indoors during the really chilly winter months.

Good Leather Boots: My favorite pair of J Crew leather boots lasted me 5 seasons before the bottoms finally started to wear down. I ended up buying the exact same style off of Poshmark this year! They don’t actually make this exact style anymore, but I do also love my pair from Madewell that are pretty similar.

With these key pieces, it’s easy enough to style a wardrobe around. Just pair with your favorite jeans or leggings, add a cozy scarf, and you’re set!
