Football season is one of my favorite times of the year. I usually host a superbowl party each year, and I’ve collected a lot of football decor and serving pieces over the years, but each year I like to make unique treats and snacks. A lot of these would be perfect for any type of sports-themed party or kid’s birthday party!
I love keeping snacks traditional and easy to make. Assorted veggies, chips, and dips are always a crowd pleaser. You can find the recipe for the veggie pinwheels here!
A team-themed popcorn bar is also always a hit! I did little bowls with M&M’s and a fruit and nut trail mix to mix in with the popcorn. Since my party was small, I only had the two toppings, but this could be so fun with lots of options for a bigger party!
I also made little nutter butter referee cookies for the dessert. These were actually inspired by the cake I made last year, but I did referee’s this year instead of players. It’s actually really easy to make the cookies– you just dip one half in melted almond bark, use the almond bark to attach the eyes, and then add the details once it dries.
My friend made football helmet cake pops, but only a few turned out well. Has anyone ever made cake pops and actually had them turn out? I feel like its a myth. Frosting the face mask on the helmet was pretty easy though! I am a big fan of the wilton mini tubes of frosting for doing things like this.
I’ve collected a lot of decorations over the years, but the GAME DAY balloons are my favorite. I try to stock up on the disposable stuff like balloons, napkins, and plates when they are on sale after the Super Bowl and just save them for the next year!
