Happy belated new years! As cheesy as new year’s resolutions are, I like to embrace this time of new beginnings. It’s not just exercise your body into looking a certain way. It’s not just to do things because people expect it of you. How do you want to evolve this year? What dreams do you have that you’ve never gone after? what if you started making baby steps towards it this year? What’s in your way?
One thing I really love to do this time of year is to clear the clutter. It feels so refreshing to remove all of the holiday decor from my house and refresh with a minimal look. Try editing down your decor and grounding in neutrals. It’s also a nice time of year to add some real plants into your life!
Maybe this is the year that you finally want to get organized. As I’ve been remodeling my kitchen, I’ve been going through my belongings and editing down to what I really use. I mean, how many kitchen utensils does one really need? It feels good to be able to donate a ton of stuff, but it’s also nice to have an organized place for everything. Maybe it’s the year you want to make positive changes to your health and fitness. The recipe for eating well and being active isn’t complicated. It just takes time and commitment each and every day, and there is no magical overnight fix. I really like this simple guide from a Pair & a Spare to remind myself of the little things to do each day to live a healthier lifestyle.
One of my biggest goals this year is to push outside of my comfort zone and do things that I would normally talk myself out of. Your biggest personal growth comes from the times you pushed yourself beyond what you thought your limits were and this year I’m hoping to do just that. I’ll share some specifics later on..
