It is the most wonderful time of the year. It can also be a time filled with stress, expectations, and responsibilities, but here’s to taking a deep breath and enjoying the magic of the Christmas season. Here are the things I am loving in this month of December.

You know how I’m all about finding healthier versions of holiday foods. I’m dying to make these baked pears with honey, cranberries and pecans from This Gal Cooks. I bet they smell and taste amazing!

I could write all of the reasons in the world how running outside in the winter isn’t fun, but instead of being negative, I choose to embrace it. I might not be running my fastest times and the cold might not always be fun, but there is nothing as pretty as a sun filled day after a fresh snowfall.

I really love sending thoughtful, handwritten holiday cards. I personally think there is nothing tackier than typed holiday “family updates” that are usually just a list of brag-worthy highlights. How about writing a unique message to each person and truly wishing them well. Even better? Hand paint your cards using this tutorial!

If you still haven’t decorated yet, now is a great time to fill your house with fresh cut pine garlands and wreaths! It will make your house smell so festive, and lucky for you procrastinators, it won’t be dried out by Christmas!

Now go forth and celebrate in the festivities! What is your favorite part about December?
