One of my favorite holiday traditions is touring a historic Victorian house in the Minneapolis suburbs that has been preserved. Each year they decorate the house for Christmas and have guided tours.
The house has a lot of the original furniture from when it was built in 1883, which is one of my favorite parts. The details and workmanship are beautiful. They also have some of the original linens and clothing of the Burwell family.
I love the ornate architecture of the house and how each room had a special purpose. The home was built to last, and I’m so glad the owners maintained it and that the city was able to buy it and keep it in its original state.
Every time I tour the house, I think about how cool it would be to buy a very old home and preserve it. Maybe that will be a future adventure of mine!
